Senegal in March

Perfect light, perfect warmth

The Venue

Sama Nopalu Kaï — La Lagune, Somone, Senegal

At the end of a path, the Somone lagoon slowly comes into view. Beyond the red stone walls, a central alley winds through three hectares of exceptional gardens, where centuries-old sacred baobabs stand among rare tropical species.

The heart of the estate is a house of refined architecture, built for rest and privacy: 800 m² of living space under 4-meter ceilings, 2,000 m² of terraces, and eight private rooms, each with its own terrace and garden. The living room opens onto the pool and the lagoon, while the dining room looks out over the kitchen garden and the black swan lake. As dusk falls, the sunset fades into the blue glow of the pool at night.

We have the whole estate to ourselves, so we can shoot anywhere in complete privacy: the gardens, the infinity pool, the rooftop, the rooms and their terraces. Every corner is a real setting to build a story around the model.

3 hectares of exceptional gardens

Centuries-old baobabs, giant cycads, Madagascar palms, and rare species from Africa and beyond.

8 private rooms

Revisited art deco style with natural materials. Each room has its own private terrace, private garden, en-suite bathroom, and Wi-Fi access.

Views over the Somone lagoon

Set in the countryside, the villa overlooks the lagoon. Pool with waterfall, panoramic terraces, and breathtaking sunsets.

Meet Your Models

Three exceptional artists, each with their own unique style

Deneb Delmas

A fashion-oriented model with a strong sense of styling and pose. Deneb's images consistently have an editorial feel, closer to a fashion shoot than a classic nude session.

Katline Roddes

Model based in France, already well established in the industry. Katline works with a natural, spontaneous attitude and a real presence in front of the camera.

Noémie Doragon

A renowned fine art model who rarely does workshops, choosing her collaborations one by one. Her presence at this event is a rare opportunity, expect a fine-art approach to the shoots.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a visa to enter Senegal?

No visa is required for EU passport holders (since 2015). A valid passport is sufficient. Participants from other countries should check visa requirements with the Senegalese embassy or consulate in their country before booking.

Are there any vaccines required for Senegal?

The yellow fever vaccine is recommended for all travelers. It is mandatory if you are arriving from a yellow fever endemic country. Other recommended vaccines include DTP (diphtheria-tetanus-polio), hepatitis A and B, and measles. Always check the latest requirements with your doctor or a travel health clinic before departure.

Is malaria a risk in Senegal?

Malaria prophylaxis is recommended for travel to Senegal. Consult your doctor at least 4–6 weeks before departure to discuss the appropriate treatment. Mosquito repellent and protective clothing are also advised, especially in the evenings.

What's the weather like in Senegal in March?

March falls in the dry season, with daytime temperatures around 27-30°C and cool evenings. The heat is dry, not humid, and conditions are very stable at this time of year, ideal for shooting outdoors all day.

Is the workshop only about nude photography?

No. Each model works across several styles, from portrait and fashion to artistic nude. You shape each session with the model, and nudity is never required from photographers who prefer to stay with portrait or fashion work.

Will we shoot outside the lodge?

Yes. Most sessions take place on the estate, which we have entirely to ourselves: gardens, pools, rooftop, rooms, and terraces offer a different setting for every session. We have also planned a session at the leaning baobab, a short drive away.

What level of photography experience do I need?

Basic photography skills are required. You should be comfortable operating your camera in manual mode and understand fundamental concepts like exposure, aperture, and shutter speed. This workshop is designed for photographers who want to refine their fine art photography, whether portrait, fashion, or nude.

What equipment should I bring?

You'll need your own camera and at least one lens suitable for portrait photography. A 50mm lens is recommended as a minimum. Don't forget extra memory cards, batteries, and any other equipment you typically use for portrait work.

What are the payment terms?

A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to book your spot. The price depends on the session you choose: €3,200 for the 2:1 session (2 photographers per model) or €4,300 for the 1:1 session (1 photographer per model). You can choose to pay the full amount upfront, or pay the remaining 50% by February 16, 2027 (one month before the workshop begins).

What is the cancellation policy?

The 50% deposit is non-refundable. If you need to cancel, the deposit cannot be refunded. If the organizer cancels the workshop, you will receive a full refund. In the unlikely event that a model is unavailable, the organizer will provide an equivalent replacement model.

What language will the workshop be conducted in?

The workshop will be conducted in English and French. All instruction, communication, and group discussions will be in both languages.

How many photographers will attend?

The 2:1 session is limited to 6 photographers. The 1:1 session is limited to 3 photographers. You book one session, either 3 days in pairs (2 photographers per model) or 3 days exclusively one on one (1 photographer per model). Both sessions take place at the same venue but at different times.

Are meals and accommodation included?

Yes, absolutely! Your investment includes a private luxury bedroom at Sama Nopalu Kaï, all meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner), unlimited hot and cold beverages throughout your stay, and Wi-Fi access.

Is transport from the airport included?

Yes, transport from Dakar-Blaise Diagne International Airport to the venue is included in the workshop price. We'll coordinate pickup times with you before your arrival.

Can I use the photos I take for my portfolio?

Yes, you retain full copyright of all images you create. A model release agreement is signed with each model before the event, covering permitted uses. Publication is subject to each model's prior approval, so models decide which images may be shown. You may also voluntarily share images with the model for their own self-promotion. Commercial use always requires a separate agreement.

What if I have dietary restrictions?

Please inform us of any dietary restrictions or allergies when booking. We'll ensure all meals accommodate your needs.
